The tourism industry in Jamaica has favoured the country yet again with a worth of $2 billion in the year 2007. According to The Jamaica Observer: “For the calendar year 2007, approximately three million visitors came to Jamaica, earning the country US $2 billion.

The Jamaican Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, has also said that the tourism sector has been observing improvements in the current year 2008. With a large tourist inflow in the island nation, authorities are concerned and on toes to satisfy the needs of the travelers.

Jamaica is an island country in the Caribbean Sea that lies south of the Cuba. The place enjoys tropical climate and is surrounded by beaches. There is a low mountain range in the interiors that rises to maximum 2256 m above the sea level.

Holiday in Jamaica is considered as leisure by many European tourists who often visit the place. There are two things that earn Jamaica large capital, bauxite and tourism.

The capital city of Jamaica is Kingston, which houses a seventeenth-century fortress. The most visited place is the Negril. For tourists who want to explore the wildlife in this country, the South Coast is the appropriate destination. On your holiday in Jamaica you may have a friendly encounter with crocodile, ostriches and many other species of birds. There are waterfalls and caves also.

At Dunn’s River Fall, you can see the water rolling down the 600 feet mountain just before it reaches the Caribbean Sea. On Jamaican holidays you may also visit places like Caymanas Park and Mona in Kingston, Grange Hill in Negril, Port Antonio, Martha Brae, Bluefield Mountains, Windsor Caves, and more. The destinations lie scattered all around. Your presence can make a good difference.
