How to avoid problems before, during and after your plane journey –

Each year millions of people travel on an airplane – thanks to the budget airlines, toped up with the availability of online Internet booking, it’s never been easier to find cheap flights and reach your dream destination.
However, in spite of air travel being very popular you need to understand that there are some health related problems commonly known as Jet lag, disrupted sleep patterns, stress, dehydration and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Just follow some basic precautions before, during and after you fly, which will make your journey much more enjoyable and reduce many of the problems associated with air travel.
Follow these simple tips before you fly –
• Avoid heavy meals, which will make you feel bloated and uncomfortable. Trying eating some light meals, which could include fruits, sandwiches, pasta or a good heavy salad, which will fulfill you needs of proteins and carbohydrates.
• Make sure you drink lots of fluids in form of simple water or juices. Avoid aerated and alcoholic drinks.
• Make sure your clothing is light, loose and comfortable. Tight clothes will restrain your movement and make your muscles stiff.
• While waiting in the lounge for your flight, make sure you walk around and if needed you could do some stretching of your neck and shoulder muscles.
• Make sure you plan your journey with enough rest and less stress.
• Simple tips while you are on board –
• Make sure you eat what’s offered on board and you are not hungry at any time, because in-flight meals are planned keeping in mind the problems associated on an air travel.
• When you have to pick up a drink, opt for some fruit juice or simply water.
• If you think you can sleep well on board, then you are lucky, make use of it and sleep as best as you can. 90 % of the people traveling by air are not as lucky as you are in terms of sleeping on an aeroplane.
• Try to walk, or just move around for some time to release that stress from your back and legs.
• Do some stretching exercise for your neck and shoulders.
• Stretch you legs and arms whenever you are stiff.
• Relax and enjoy the in flight entertainment.

Some post flight tips –
• Stretch your self, now you are free and out of that bonsai chair. Loosen up your muscles; they need some freedom.
• Make sure you haven’t stopped your intake of liquids.
• If you are in another part of the world with time difference, sleep well, your body cycle needs to be adjusted to the new place, and that will take some time.
Everyone loves to travel, if you make use of the above tips we guarantee you will have a great holiday. When your body is at peace, your mind is active and you will enjoy the new place much better.
