| Why is buying a house plan so hard? |
How is it that with 25,000 plans available on some house plan websites that I can’t find a plan to fit my needs? Chances are if I walk through 25 houses that fit the criteria I am looking for, I can find at least one that has a layout that I would be in love with. Why is this not the same with looking at the house plans? I believe that it is because house plans typically don’t tell you enough to make an emotional connection with the house. A flat, two-dimensional floor plan may give you technical details, but it doesn’t allow you to immediately process what it would be like to sit in my living room and watch tv or how much space I have in my master bathroom or whether there is enough space between my kids play room and my office to allow me to work.
Soon you will begin to see house plan websites that will allow you to experience the home more without having to actually build the house. This will be done through interactive tools such as walk-throughs or coordinated photographs of the house. It is just a fact that a house plan that gives potential buyers more information is going to sell more frequently.
