| All Low Income Mothers and Women Get Free Grant Money From Obama's Scholarship Program in 2009 |
Whatever a government is doing, it is thinking about how the whole society will benefit from it. That is why we must not be thinking that the US government is just wasting money by asking women to go to school for higher education because there is large amount of money to be spent. There are benefits for society in the short-run and in the long-run.
In the short-run, this is what will happen: the economy is just emerging out of recession and the gains of the economic stimulus package should be sustained if their effects should remain for a long time. That is why government should find a way of injecting money into the system to force people to produce. When there are people ready to buy services and goods, there will be more orders and companies will be busy producing to meet such demands.
In the medium term, there will be an improvement in the availability of highly qualified skilled workers. This means there will be efficient production of services and goods. Those women who take advantage of the program will be coming out and performing better in their current jobs. Some will acquire the knowledge and the skills to open new business where more and more people will be employed.
In the long run, their will be a better society. A society where mothers are highly educated will have children who are well brought up. That means that government will not have to spend more money on ways of curbing crime and deviance.
