| Working Moms Get Over $10,000 In Scholarship Money to Return to School! |
Moms who once dreamt of going back to school but found it impossible to fund their studies have found the assistance they have been searching for. As a part of his stimulus package, President Barack Obama has created two avenues for working moms making minimum or close to minimum wages to earn post-high school qualifications without breaking the bank.
This can be done through a scholarship program that targets working, especially single, mothers and a tax program that will further decrease their out of pocket expenses for school.
The scholarship which will be paid from the Federal Pell Grants will provide up to $5100, giving applicants the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 in scholarship while applying. The American Tax Act will shave off an additional $4000 from the cost of tuition.
One of the best features of the scholarship is that it allows online studies which will greatly assist the hectic schedules of single mothers working two or three jobs to make ends meet. The Federal Pell Grants is a government fund that assists low income students – not just mothers – to afford tertiary education on their salaries. Acceptance is not guaranteed, but in today's economy taking the chance is a sure step in the right direction.
The initiative forms a part of President Obama's vision for a fully and well educated America and serves as a medium of combating the current financial slump that many families, a lot of which are led by mothers, have found themselves in due to the recession.
