President Barrack Obama has instituted a scholarship for American mothers. This scholarship has been included in the stimulus package and is in addition to the Federal Pell Grant Program. This scholarship offers mothers up to $10,000 per year for their college fees and other educational expenses. With this scholarship, the President has clearly shown his commitment to higher education for mothers.
Mothers, who've been holding their dreams of getting a college degree to their credit because of financial constraints, can now go ahead with Obama's Scholarship for Mothers program. Inarguably, the best part about this scholarship grant is the fact that the entire amount is free of any interest and none of it needs to be paid back after completion of studies.
If you are a mother and if you qualify for this grant there is no harm in trying. It's true that timing and availability of courses can be a little problem for mothers, especially those with infants. However, with on-line courses qualifying for the grants, suddenly the logistics seem possible. So much work can be done at home – no need for giving up employment time, using costly child care or time and money consuming travel.
