Runner's Fitness - What is the Single Best Exercise For Runners?

I must say that if you are really wanting to improve your running performance then you have got to have a smart strength training program. I am pleased to introduce to you the kettlebell swing!

The kettlebell swing is a single strength endurance exercise that involves hundreds of muscles and sets at the top of the food chain in terms of strength training workouts for runners. By performing the kettlebell swing you will find that your level of perceived exertion will go through the roof! Swinging this iron cannonball back and forth between your legs strengthens your hips, thighs, glutes, hamstrings, back, core, shoulders, and arms all within a single movement. You gain the benefit of both muscular endurance and superior cardiovascular fitness.

In order to perform this exercise you must swing the kettlebell from between your legs up to chest level. This is done by you fluently flexing and extending at both your hips and knees in continuous fashion to create the necessary momentum to swing the iron ball back and forth between your legs. This is the best core strengthening exercise for runners to perform when compared to any other form of resistance training. Strength and conditioning for runners is a must. In order to be at your best your training has to be at its best.

Take the time to endure the learning curve on kettlebell training my friend. Taking the necessary time to figure out the proper form and technique will take your workouts and running fitness to all new heights! Train hard and enjoy my friends.
