Paid advertising can be an effective marketing method, as long as you’re investing your money in the right types of marketing. Invest it in the wrong marketing and you’ll burn a hole in your pocket! We’ll begin with the types of advertising to avoid.


Avoid these types of Paid Advertising

• Avoid paying for traffic directed to your site in the form of hits. Hits occur every time someone visits your site. Many services will provide you a certain number of hits, for a price. These types of services have always provided business for one group: The service providers!! I and countless other marketers have gone through the costs of advertising with them. Don’t pay for these!
• Avoid paying for ads that go to list e-mail addresses of safe lists. People provide “list addresses” as specific destinations for advertisements sent to them. People don’t usually read the e-mails that go there!
• Avoid paying for bought leads to be loaded in an autoresponder. You haven’t pre-qualified them personally, so you don’t know if they’re responsive to your offers. In fact, they’ll probably view you as a spammer!

Effective Paid Advertising

• Pay per clicks are effective advertising. Pay per click campaigns are usually used with search engines like Google and Yahoo. You pay to have your ad come up to the side when someone does a search. Every time someone goes to your site, you pay them a fee. The key to these campaigns is not to bid on the most common keywords. An example, if you want a pay per click campaign on online marketing. Don’t bid on the keywords “online marketing,” it’ll be way to expensive! Bid on something else, like “money possibilities from home.” You might get a cheaper campaign and get to the top of the search list! You’ll have to experiment with word combinations to see how much they’ll cost.
