The Government Wants to Give You Money to Pay Off Your Debt!

A great many Americans suffer from debt and job loss these days. Luckily, the federal government sets aside billions of dollars every year just to give away. This free funding is what is referred to as a government grant. But, not all grants are listed as such, nor are they easy to find. It takes a little homework to find the cash benefit that suits your needs.

One of the best sites to check out is the USA Gov Site. This website lists all the various federal agencies and provides information about all of them. The first topic listed is always "Benefits and Grants." This link can provide you with a plethora of information about grants, loans, and financial aid. For example, the federal government is willing to give anyone $200,000 to run a farm or ranch. They are also willing to hand out $500,000 for a small business start-up. You can get $300,000 to help you get government contracts and you can get $3,000,000 in venture capital.

John Doe may be drowning in debt, but John Doe Inc. is quite flush.

Another site to check is the government grants site. This is the list of all grants offered by the federal government. The website not only lists all grants, but also provides downloadable applications and help pages to make the whole process easier to understand.

It is important to note that there are very few grants created to pay off credit cards and unsecured debt, but there are many that will help with mortgages/foreclosures, student loans, and tax credit/rebates/incentives. This is why many grants are actually referred to as "domestic assistance."

Grant funding and availability changes with government whims, so it is important to check these web sites regularly. With any luck, the grant designed to help you will appear when you most need it.
