The Federal Government Issues Free Grants to Help You Become Debt Free

The United States federal government has a diverse spectrum of programs and grants intended for those in debt to both seek relief gain a more solid financial footing.

The first, and most generally useful, is the wide variety of grants offered to students. A person willing to attend an institution of higher learning can at least temporarily find themselves the beneficiary of debt relief. For the foreseeable future, the higher level of education a person has, the more job opportunities they will have. Pell grants and other student loans (such as the Stafford Loan) associated with the federal government can be used for tuition, supplies and even day-to-day living costs while in school.

Unemployment insurance is usually available if a person has lost their job, and in most places, provides a somewhat reasonable approximation of what one was making as a regular working wage previously. Whether or not a person is eligible for unemployment insurance, nearly any American living near or below the poverty line (this varies from state to state) is eligible for food stamps, utility assistance and free or discounted public services such as city buses.

Finally, a person who wishes to begin a small business, embark on an educational study, or aid and assist in a wide variety of other areas can apply for a federal grant in these individual topics. The government maintains an easily searchable, interactive website at grants.gov for potential entrepreneurs and scholars to begin searching for the specific program or programs they intend to apply for.
