| How to Manage Multiple Blogs |
Reality # 1: For a blog to be effective, it must be managed well. Management equals time and effort. Reality # 2: Blogging is the way to go to promote your products and services (for free!) in the World Wide Web. So is it really worth the trouble to set up more than one blog? I will say, yes!
Having recognized the power of blog marketing, why shouldn't you take full advantage of its benefits to your small business? Traditional advertising costs a lot these days hence marketing through blogs makes perfect sense. If you're a born multitasker, then dealing with two blogs or more is painless.
On the other hand, if you already have your hands full and cannot accommodate another blog, you can always outsource this task to an individual who's a savvy blogger. Either way, here are several key steps you can follow to effectively manage multiple blogs.
• Keep your content original. Even if you keep two blogs that are related, you should still post unique content for each. You can't hoodwink readers. They will keep off blogs that look like spam. Mirror content is boring and useless. Keep the content creative and informative. Also, remember not to copy content from other blogs especially without the blog author's permission. That would be stealing. Not good for your online rep.
• Regularly update each blog. To keep reader traffic flowing, make sure you post on a regular basis. A blog that has outdated content simply turns readers off. Competition in the blog world is really stiff. If you want a solid fan base for your blog, fill it up with information readers can use. If you have product updates, post them on your blogs pronto so people can know about them.
• Set aside time to work on each blog. Do not play favorites, as one blog may wither away as your favored one thrives. Then what is the point of having more than one blog? Exactly. So it is wise to set aside, say an hour a day, three to four days a week to do the research and write your blog posts. The time you will reserve for this task really depends on how many blogs you have and how fast you work.
Now, no matter how revved up you are about managing multiple blogs, there will come a time when you will waver. When that time comes, think of the lost possibilities. Increased exposure. Greater income potential for your small business. Increased networking opportunities. If you keep your eyes on the prize, you will be truly motivated to work on managing your multiple blogs. Just stick by these simple guidelines to accomplish your goal.
