Why You Need a Duvet and Cover

Since the days of old England, duvets have been a way of life. Traditionally, they were plain fabric filled with down feather though in modern times they are often filled with polyester. Duvets are placed in decorative covers that protect the integrity of the fibers, an important factor with feather duvets. In recent years, these old world blankets have become all the rage in home decor and rightly so. They offer users a variety of benefits in comparison to traditional comforters and are often less expensive.

Perhaps the best part of owning a duvet is its versatility. It is often a hassle to find a comforter that dons the filling you prefer and the pattern you like. Because complete duvets come in two part, you can buy which ever type of insert you like and its cover separate allowing you to customize your bedding. This makes finding a 200 thread count, poly-filled, floral duvet just as easy as finding a 300 count, down feather, beige one. Finding the right size is just as easy because you can find duvets in every size up to a California King.

Laundering is also easier and more effective with duvets. Since duvets have covers, they do not get dirty and as such do not get washed. This prevents the fibers and most importantly the feather from breaking down or disintegrating. One simply removes the cover and launders is alone. This process also helps your duvet maintain its integrity allowing it to last far longer than traditional bedding would.

In addition, duvet covers are easy to change so adjusting them for a new room or season is a breeze. If you like to change your room frequently, a reversible duvet is a great idea. Either side can be as the upper layer so changing it simple require the flip of a blanket. Duvets are a great addition to any home and will soon become essentials. Their versatility and longevity makes them a good buy and their comfort makes them a must have!
