The greatest precaution to be taken while using such kinds of fire extinguishers is that in case of fire due to an electrical device, these fire extinguishers should not be entertained. This would create further troubles for you if used in case of electrical fires as water would act as a conductor of electricity and would worsen the situation. It should only be used for the fires which are caused apart from electrical and flammable sources.
2) ‘CO2 fire extinguishers’
These types of fire extinguishers are commonly used and are found mostly in the living places. These have better usage as compared to the water fire extinguishers. The only disadvantage seen here is that it cools the fire for a temporary basis, therefore the chances for reoccurrence of fire is always there. So in case the fire has taken place due to highly inflammable source, be sure not to use it as it would surely put off the fire immediately but chances of reoccurrence will always be there.
Therefore the best type of fire extinguisher present in the market is ‘foam type’.
