| What Are You Training For? |
Whether you are looking to speed up the progress of your weight-loss or you are wanting to pack on muscle you must have a direction and sound structure in your plan. Too many times I have seen people "go through the motions" and not put forth any effort that would be considered effective even by a child's standards. Even with several individuals that are making an attempt at working out most of these don't have a single clue as to what they are doing.
The key to any exercise, strength training, or performance program is making sure that you have a sound plan and understanding of what works. There is more than one way to skin a cat. You can train in a number of effective ways to achieve your goals of being unfit.
However, if you are going to start working out then you must address your goals first and then map out the plan to get there. For instance, if I am getting ready for a powerlifting event then I better not be training like a bodybuilder. This would be counter-productive and I would be asking for a butt-kicking in the powerlifting event if I made that mistake. Don't make stupid decisions with your training, just like you wouldn't do with your money or some important investment. Now having said this even if you choose the "most" correct path for you to get to your goal it doesn't mean that you will win what you are doing or that it won't still take a significant amount of effort or work to get it done.
Just remember to map out your plan, understand it, and execute it with a fierce effort! If you combine these 3 elements into your attempt at achieving your goals then it will happen. Just remember the most important thing of all. Stay consistent and don't let up!
