Waste Handling Equipment and Industrial Electric Motors in the Manufacturing Marketplace

Waste management is an important tool in order to save the environment from drowning due through flood. When drainage is cluttered with trash, there is a great tendency for storm or rain water to build-up. Therefore, it is best to seek for help through some initiatives within the neighborhood.

Waste handling should be a conscious effort of the community.
Before going further into the different types of equipment to help in waste handling concerns, programs should be closely looked at. Pollution prevention, solid waste collection and recycling are a few examples. Below are some brief descriptions of these waste disposal methods.

Waste management programs

Pollution prevention aims at preventing the scatter of trash within a community. It involves reusing some products especially non-biodegradable ones. Recycling programs are also often encouraged.

Another waste handling technique is the solid waste collection where different guidelines as to the disposal and segregation of waste are imposed. Facilities are also used in order to collect this trash. A simple way to do it is through placing labeled trash cans in designated areas.

Of course, recycling is a very valuable tool. Lead-acid batteries and waste oil are few examples of recyclable materials. Aside from plastics, metal, newspaper and glass may also be recycled.

Waste management equipment

Incinerators are the most popular equipment in order to manage waste. It is actually a furnace for destroying things through the process of burning. Materials that are no longer reusable and recyclable should undergo this process. This is to make sure that all unwanted clutters are disposed of properly.

Composters are also typical examples of equipment for waste management. This device is often shaped either like a box or a barrel. It collects organic materials to be used later in composting. Food waste recycling solutions are often made through this tool. There are different machineries to help solve waste disposal issues especially for food. Most composting machines for this purpose are made to reduce odor while spoiled food is being processed.

There are other waste handling systems depending on the type of waste that needs to be managed. Can disposal systems are gaining recognition in the waste management industry. There are also recycling systems made exclusively for construction sites. Of course utility trucks are still favored up to this day in order to collect trash from areas within the locale. This type is basically adapted by a lot of waste disposal programs around the world.

Industrial Electric Motors: A Comparison of Its Different Types

Abstract: Industrial electric motors have different applications. They also have different types - each with advantages and disadvantages. Take a closer look at the subcategories of this product.

Industrial electric motors are relevant components in order to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. They function after magnetic fields interact with conductors that carry current. With the use of a generator, the process may be reversed, that is, mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy.

There are a number of applications for industrial electric motors. Included in the list are industrial fans or blowers, pumps and power tools. They are also relevant for the functioning of household appliances as well as computer drives. It operates in two ways: first, with the use of a battery; or from alternating current. Below are some types to take note of.

Alternating Current Motors

Alternating current motors or AC motors are industrial electric motors sub-classified into other forms: AC induction shaded pole; AC induction split-phase capacitor; and AC synchronous. Of these three types, the AC induction is the least expensive despite its long life and high power capacities. The main disadvantage of this type however is it has the tendency to slip while rotating plus it has a low rotating force. The most common applications are fans.

With AC induction split-phase capacitors, high power is guaranteed. The rotating force is also higher than the first AC motor category. However, just like the AC induction shaded pole, it has the tendency to slip while rotating. Most appliances make use of this type of motor.

The last category, which is the AC synchronous, is highly favored because the rotation synchronizes well with frequency and the alternator has a long life. However, it is more expensive than the other types. Tape drives, audio turntables and clocks are its most common applications.

Direct Current Motors

Direct current motors or DC motors are electric motors that basically run through the help of direct current. Just like the AC motors, it has three types, namely the stepper DC, brushless DC and brushed DC. The stepper DC’s advantages are its precise positioning and its capacity to withstand rotating force. However, its drawback is the fact that it requires a controller.

Applications include floppy drives.

As for the brushless and brushed DC, some points of comparison are noted. A brushless DC motor has a longer lifespan and requires lower maintenance. When compared to the brushed DC, it requires higher initial investment and it can only run with the help of a controller. These two industrial electric motors have several applications: hard drives, DVD players and electric vehicles for brushless DC; and treadmill and automotive starters for brushed DC.
