Are Dreams Really What Freud Thought?

Are you a person who thinks your dreams are odd? Do you often wonder what dreams meanings are? Are you scared that what you dream may really happen?

It's hard to imagine that the ways of interpreting dreams will work for all the dreams of all people out there. After all, some of the meanings that you read in the newer dream dictionaries seem vague in some cases. Or too plain and too designed.

What is my dreams meaning? Last night the dream contained a huge horse walking around in a field, and no matter how much attention was paid to the horse, it never came any closer. Ok so what does that dream really mean? You like horses, or if you look in a dream dictionary that you may feel you are not receiving the attention in life you deserve.

So now you know how Freud went about thinking of what dreams meant. Can this still be the case? Does the unconscious mind still repress feelings that we don't want to get out? And the way they are released is through dreams. It may well be, but do we know for sure?

Look at Sigmund Freud, the "father of modern psychology", he felt all dreams were about sex. Yes he felt that every single dream could be figured out by some sort of repressed sexual feeling you were experiencing. One that you may not have even been aware off.

Dreams are an amazing thing, and some creative people will take these dreams good and bad alike and use them. Stephen King has probably had tons of dreams that have come out on the pages of his novels, and it's amazing. Or painters most likely have dreamt a few pictures up before.

No matter how you look at it though, if you agree with Freud or someone else, it still is a very interesting subject matter. Talking about dreams and what you feel they may mean has always made up hours of fun conversation for many friends. Or lunchtime discussions.

Though a person can dream every night, does it mean that all people who dream about falling are all dreaming about the same meaning? These are all things you need to consider before you put too much into the thought of what your dream means. It's hard to imagine everyone in this world no matter how they have been raised or what they desire are dreaming the same meanings.
