| Five Reasons Why a Person Would Not Be Kettlebell Material! |
In the following article I have outlined 5 reasons as to why someone may NOT be kettlebell material. If you can check off any single one of these reasons then step aside and hand your bell over to someone that can benefit from the training! Read carefully and if you know someone else who this applies to then take the time to show them this article too!
Reasons as to why you may NOT be kettlebell material:
1. You have a short attention span: This is very true my friend. There is no room for any ADD or ADHD in this arena. Your focus must be in check and you have got to be spot on with your training technique when working with the iron ball. If you are not then you WILL get injured or you WILL injure someone else in the process! In order to get superior results one must be willing to endure the learning curve.
2. You don't have an open mind: I personally love this one. In many ways our country (for my overseas friends, I am referring to the U.S.) only has a single mindset that involves training. They have a belief that working out is mostly "bodybuilding" only. Now I'm not picking on the bodybuilders, at least the real ones, but for the majority of people that implement a training program for optimal results they sure aren't getting those results! If you aren't open to learning a completely different method of training that goes beyond anything you have ever tried then you are not kettlebell material.
3. You can't be soft: I mean this in terms of mentally and physically. You must be willing to endure a hard-hitting workout and have the mental toughness to stick with it! Kettlebells build and construct Greek Gods and Goddesses, not babysit whiny brats. Get over it or move on.
4. You must practice consistently: Just like any other program, it's success or failure does not depend on the program, but rather on the person participating in it. If you don't put in the time then you won't make the big gains in strength and fitness. This is a MUST DO with kettlebells!
5. You can't be afraid of going heavy: This is a true statement if I have ever heard one. The beauty of strength training is that strength is gained by applying tension. The more tension that is applied the more force is produced, therefore the individual becomes stronger. Swinging a heavier bell will also make your usual bell feel light as a feather. Because of this you can readily increase the overall volume of your training and improve your level of fitness!
