| Utilize Radical Ideas If You Want to Gain Muscle Quickly |
Even the most casual weightlifters are serious about getting real results when it comes to building muscle fast. Many people want to add muscle to increase their health, others want to feel better about themselves, and most just want an improved overall appearance. The unfortunate reality however, is that most people who start out on a bodybuilding program eventually-- and usually quickly-- give up, because they're just not seeing the results that they desire and hoped for. If you happen to be one of these frustrated weightlifters, don't give up. What frustrated body builders don't realize, is that the type of techniques and overall method you incorporate makes a huge difference when it comes to the results, or lack of results, you get. Now, of course the entire point is to build lean muscle mass fast and to get rid of any excess body fat. How you do this depends on each individual person. But there are key guidelines everyone should follow.
There are a couple of differing ways to approach the goal of adding muscle quickly. The "commercial" method espoused by major muscle building magazines, and the newer radical ideas that turns a lot of so-called conventional wisdom on its head. If you listen to advice pushed by most body building coaches today, they would have you buy or use only the most expensive body building equipment, and load your body full of questionable supplements. If you're not achieving the results you seek based on the timeworn advice given by more traditional body building coaches, it might not hurt to try out some of the newer concepts in the bodybuilding world.
Here are some examples of the advice you might get from some of the newer coaches today. It's not surprising if you think these ideas are a little bit outlandish, but if you haven't tried them, you don't know what you're missing. You just might be in for the surprise of your life by trying out these groundbreaking ideas in building muscle. One of the newer ideas is that relying on the old standby of 3 sets of ten reps is an extremely generalized concept that doesn't produce results most of the time. What you want to do instead is to achieve the maximum amount of work, at the highest intensity, in the shortest amount of time.
Keep in mind however, that the most amount of work does not always equate to the highest amount of weight. Intensity does not equate to lifting the highest amount of weight that you can push. Regarding doing an exercise for ten reps; if you're able to lift a weight ten times, it is-- to put it bluntly-- going to do jack squat for building any real muscle. Now conversely, doing 3 sets of any given exercise is typically too many, because if you can do 3 sets, that exercise is not intense enough. Trying to conduct the full range of motion for exercises that you do will set back your progress immensely. You should know that every muscle outputs the greatest power in only a very short movement range. You must always remain in that narrow movement range to see significant strength and muscle size improvement. In conclusion, isometric exercises, and better yet, static contraction exercises, can be your secret method of packing on the muscle quickly.
Sound like a joke? If you're getting the results you want, feel free to ignore this article. However, using some of the new radical concepts in bodybuilding may stun you with the huge results they give you. And as another benefit, you'll most likely have to work out only a fraction of the time you do right now. Imagine visiting the gym only once or twice a week, but getting better results than you do now.
