| The Push-Pull Combo - 2 Exercises to Give You Great Total-Body Strength and Fitness! |
In order for you to obtain optimal strength and fitness you have to be symmetrical. In other words, you can't favor your training with a single plain of motion or a single movement. If you incorporate an exercise like push-ups, but never do any pulling movement such as pull-ups then you are neglecting the natural movement and total function of your body. Permit yourself the time to incorporate the following 2 drills into your personal program.
1. Chest Press: Now when I say chest press I mean a number of different things. You can incorporate a variety of chest press movements that include the "push" such as the bench-press, push-ups, and dumbell presses. All of these have many variations as well. To include anyone of these is essential and should be done on a frequent basis. The key to improving your total-body strength and fitness is to vary how you do these type of movements. You should keep it varied in terms of the specific exercise and the intensity. This will give you optimal pushing ability.
2. Pulling Movements For Your Back: This can certainly be a variety of things as well. My favorite for developing a strong back is the age old pull-up. To equal out the symmetry of your body and a great way to forge total-body strength and fitness is to combine both the push movement with the pull movement in a superset. This is a sure way to get you in shape fast. Other pulling movements you can include could be variations of rows and shrugs. Just keep these varied as well in order to develop optimal fitness and strength!
