Can A Weight Lifter Burn Muscle Mass With Aerobics?

Many bodybuilders are perplexed regarding aerobic exercise, with some believing that such effort is necessary to control body fat, while others preferring the idea that cardiovascular exercise can risk muscle mass, or prevent future muscle building. The latter group's concern has forced many bodybuilders to avoid aerobic exercise during muscle building periods, and even prohibit cardiovascular exercise when fat loss is the primary focus, but for many, the question remains as to whether the aerobic exercise backlash is well founded, or if this notion is rather a part of bodybuilding mythology.

Most bodybuilders realize the value of aerobic activity in fat loss, but the worry mounts when considering the impact on muscle mass, and this has compelled certain bodybuilders to replace their moderately intense aerobic sessions with power walking, believing that this type of activity is properly intense for fat burn, but below the threshold for muscle loss. I occasionally try to determine exactly where these ideas originate, and a group may have potentially felt so attracted to the idea of putting forth less effort (which occurs when comparing walking to jogging), that they began spreading this rather illogical proposition, or, alternatively, a group of marketers may have felt that they could design a particular physical fitness plan filled with attractive information, namely an easy to use routine that will encourage readers to sign up due to incredibly effortless promises. Of course, such routines have repeatedly proven themselves to be miserable failures, offering horrid results. Yet, what weight lifter does not relish in the thought of suppressing effort and achieving superior progress? Taking this idea further, do you know of any bodybuilder who would reject an excuse to abandon aerobic exercise completely if he or she were convinced that doing so was helpful to muscle gains?

Yes, evil aerobics sounds very attractive to a weight lifter who is seeking less effort, and advertising is an industry where the senses are tickled to the point of emotional purchase, but the wisdom taught decades ago are never replaced by clever advertising slogans, despite the effort of many exercise entrepreneurs to do so. The truth is, making aerobics seem counterproductive is an excellent method at convincing a weight lifter to purchase a particular muscle building and fat loss program, because each one of us feels a sense of curiosity towards the idea of more couch time producing superior progress, but this particular gimmick does not translate into results. Wherever the idea surfaced, marketers have used the "cardiovascular activity burns muscle" notion to market their own products, despite the fact that aerobic exercise is not only potent in burning body fat when executed correctly and consistently, but does not harm muscle gain.

All bodybuilders realize that a physique will decline in overall aesthetic beauty as body fat percentage begins to increase, and conversely, will improve significantly as body fat declines. Therefore, prudence suggests that any body fat reduction concept should be integrated at all times in order for the best possible bodybuilding results, and if aerobic exercise is in fact a potent fat control method, then it behooves all who search for the best possible bodybuilding results to implement aerobic exercise into their daily workout routine.

The only exception to this rule is if a bodybuilder is primarily searching for muscle gain, and due to time constraints or an emotional inability to accept sufficient workout time, he or she feels simply incapable of maintaining maximum intensity during weight training workouts when aerobic exercise is an added inconvenience; in such a situation, aerobics can be saved for fat loss periods only, when weight training workout volume declines. But for those who have the time to perform consistent aerobic exercise, integrating aerobics several days per week is effective, even during muscle building phases, as the less body fat that is produced during muscle gain, the more focus can be maintained on achieving muscle growth, and the greater definition a bodybuilder will display throughout the year.

Therefore, despite the skeptics and advertising experts who claim differing theories, aerobic exercise is helpful in fat loss, will not risk muscle when following a potent diet plan and weight training system, and will enhance metabolism so that body fat percentage can remain acceptable throughout the year. If you are seeking maximum bodybuilding progress, then consider cardiovascular exercise to be your trusted fat reducing companion.
