| How to Incorporate your Ideas into Team Building Activities |
The main issue is not how you can incorporate your ideas into the events rather, it is what events you must use and adapt to {emphasize the significance of your ideas.
Focusing on the Main Points
You are not adhering to any copyrighted works, when you employ events or another team building activity. What works for one team may not work for yours, particularly contemplating the many different industries that use a team building system. Trainers and bosses are advised to know their team and to develop an education course that benefits them, as opposed to a system that benefits others. If an event works for IT department team members, does that mean the same activity will work if you're coaching a senior leadership team?
Maybe you appreciate constructive aspects of a certain activity. In that case, borrow the theory and alter it to your circumstances and your team. Eliminate the unnecessary or confusing aspects and focus on the main points you're trying to teach. There may be rules to a game or activity that conflict with what you're trying to achieve. In that case, it is better to create a new game that quickly gets to the point, than try to figure out a complicated technique to apply the activity and all its technical guidelines.
Consider ways to apply a team building activity to a specific industry and to your specific team members. If you notice that your team members share many characteristics or have a natural enthusiasm for something then incorporate those motivating aspects into the scenario. If you're planning on a quiz game, then include difficult questions that are relevant to the team whether it is questions on the business, sports or entertainment.
Pulling the Strings
It is also acceptable to strategically assign roles and game features so you can test various members in your team, or even to come up with a desired effect so you can stress a point. You can observe your team members reacting to their problems and noting how they take care of the responsibility. You may be testing leadership qualities, cooperative abilities or team efforts. Utilizing the study of psychometrics can be to your advantage, and even to the advantage of your team. Some trainers explain the idea of testing and operational psychology to their team members, in an effort to get them involved and ready for progress.
It's crucial to keep all of your team members challenged, as much as possible. Everybody wants to excel, and certainly some members will develop quicker than others. You may give the more active members no shortage of things to see and be successful and think that the team building effort is going well. But what about the people who are not performing as well? Can they still be worked with? Nobody likes to be neglected and part of being an effective trainer is aiding team members to excel at their own comfortable rate. In cases like this, devise an event that assigns members different roles based on their skill and experience. Find challenging work for everyone partaking and make sure the entire team is playing to their best abilities.
