| What is Bum Marketing? |
The simple answer to that question is article marketing. But recently, as more and more people go searching on the net for ways to make money look for great ways to advertise their website for free, Bum marketing is now being defined as free marketing techniques.
The premise is simple. You find a product or service online that you can earn a sizable commission for referring sales, but it doesn't cost you anything to earn as a reseller, so you are only risking
your time.
Now that you have chosen the product(s) that you want to promote, you can use any number of free advertising methods to start driving visitors to your website. You can post articles for free on many different sites, you can market with your signature in forums, use videos on sites like You Tube and Revver. you can build a blog or Squidoo lens. There are many different ways to advertise a site for free.
The reason why it is called bum marketing is because you could theoretically be a bum off the street, go into the public library, access the internet, start writing articles for products and earning commissions.
It is a cool concept and has been done this way at least a couple of times by ambitious individuals who had a burning desire to change their lives for the better.
But more often this method is used by people with no excess capital, whether that is students, divorcees or people in debt, because it is such a low-risk way to start making money online.
You should know, however, that bum marketing isn't a get rich quick scheme. It will take many hours of work and research before your efforts begin to pay off.
