Questions To Ask Before Ending A Relationship


There are so many pop quizzes and little tests on the Internet these days that help people decide who they should marry and when they should stop seeing them. Correction: they aren’t new. They have been around for a billion years in newspapers, magazines and at parties. It is so unfortunate that so many people actually think they get something from them. I wonder how many people actually run their lives based on slogans, sayings and fortune cookies.

A relationship that could, or has led to a marriage is a very serious thing. You’re talking about committing yourself to a lifetime of acceptance and support of another person. Wouldn’t you agree that the person you are committed to meets or exceeds all of the things you value the most? Far too many people look beyond the flaws of the person they are with in order to maintain a relationship. The relationship, in those cases, is obviously more important than the person they are having their relationship with.

The most important question to ask before ending a relationship is, “Is this the kind of person I want to spend my entire life with?” If the answer is “no”, it is time to openly and kindly end the relationship. Take some time to write down the qualities you most admire in a person and then look for that person; you will find your soul mate One more thing: the above does not apply to marital relationships!
