The Importance of Article Writing

Getting your site seen out on the internet is no easy task. There are many, many different ways to advertise your site as well. Among those are classified ads, text ads, banner ads, traffic exchanges and e-mail marketing. When used correctly, they can be very effective. However, that could cost a lot of money, and could take a lot of time and skill learning. In my humble opinion, the best form of free advertising you can use is article writing.

Webmasters and ezine publishers are always in need of new content. While they can simply write new content themselves, perhaps they do not have enough time or knowledge to write the content. They could always hire somebody to write for them, but this costs money. Article directories are a popular source of free, new content that provides articles that people are free to use. When you write and submit articles, your article could be seen by thousands of publishers, hungry for new content. The catch is, when people use your articles, they must include your resource box. All you have to do is put a link to your site in your resource box and presto, instant one way link!

This benefits you in many different ways. More one way links to your site means better search engine ranking. When more people use your articles, more people will read them and see your resource box. This is a key thing for your website. After reading your article, people who click your link will actually be interested in your website. Your article may spark curiosity in the reader, which will cause the reader to follow the link in your resource box back to your website. Article writing makes you appear as an authority in whatever field you write about, which will build trust in the reader.

Another thing about articles is that they spread around the internet like a virus. You may only submit your articles to a few article directories. A few people may take those articles and put them on their websites or blogs. Some of their visitors may take those articles and reprint them again. The process repeats itself over, and over, and over again. And every time it does, your link gets distributed along with the article. Your website traffic could increase exponentially, just from article writing.

Now some people may stay away from article writing, because they think they are not knowledgeable enough to write articles. However the fact of the matter is anyone who is willing to do a little research and put forth an effort can write an article. Everyone knows a little bit about something. Or one could read articles about a topic they want to write about and gain information for their own article. And article writing is definitely not writing an essay. People who search the internet for information prefer to have it short, sweet, and to the point. They do not usually have time to read a ten page essay. A simple 400-500 word article would be perfect for them.

In short, if you want to utilize an effective form of free advertising, than article writing is for you. You get your link out there. Other webmasters get free content. Everybody wins.
