Driving Traffic To Website

It doesn't matter how you're promoting yourself or your business opportunity out on the Internet, but in order to turn a suspect into a prospect, you need to do a couple of things. Now very important, there are three key words that you need to remember with everything you do online, if it's classified ads, if it's videos, if it's Web 2.0, the most important thing that you need to remember and stand back three feet and look at what you currently have on the Internet, it is a CTA which I refer to as a call to action. With your blogs and with your capture pages, you are using a call to action are you actually giving away something, giving away a freebee, or giving out some valuable information that will actually turn your suspects into prospects.

A few months ago, I wasn't happy with one of the promotions I had online and I actually took a ten-foot approach. I stepped back, I looked at my marketing, and at that point, I realized, you know what, this is a really cool website it does the job, but it's actually more of a branding site and it didn't have the key elements that are required in order to change a suspect into a prospect.

What I'm talking about is that I'd say about 99 percent of the opportunities that I look at out on the Internet have a marketing page and they don't have a call to action or a way for a suspect to become a prospect out on the Internet because if you're marking a home based business, your final objective, your goal is to turn that suspect into a prospect and when your prospecting out on the Internet, do you really know how effective you are in what your results are with what you're promoting.

I've been talking to quite a few marketers out on the Internet and everyone always asks me, "Hey Steve, how can I drive more traffic to my site? What am I doing wrong?" what I usually find out is that the people that I'm working with, they never have a strong call to action with anything they're doing, with a video, with a blog. When a prospect reads their advertisements, there's not a reason for that person to opt into a list or even become a prospect because the marketing does not have a call to action.

With my one particular site, I've been able to get a 15.5 percent response. knowing what your metric is, is very important because if you're not driving the type of traffic you want to drive to a website, you wont to be able to convert those unknown visitors, which I refer to as suspects, into prospects. Having a site set up where you control the list, you can look at your conversation ratio and actually figure out if what you're doing is effective or not effective out on the Internet. Now I'd say about 99 percent of the people that I work with are doing everything right when it comes to marketing; however, they're squeeze page, or capture page, is the fault that there's no call to action.
